Part 1: If it is not the riding
 
There can be many causes, if a horse is not accepting steady rein contact. Most times, it is the rider himself, a non-fitting rein control, an inadequate balance of the riding position or rude handling of the horse. These topics will be discussed in a future RossKur-Postille. But as with many problems, occurring while riding, there can be causes that have nothing to do with the riding itself. This edition will therefore discuss health problems in the horse’s mouth, which make an acceptance of the bit and therefore accepting rein contact impossible for the horse.
